The Pancreatic Cancer Action Network,
Inc. (PanCAN), established in
1999, is the first national patient advocacy organization for the pancreatic cancer community.
PanCAN works to focus national attention on the need to find a cure for pancreatic cancer. We
provide public and professional education embracing the urgent need for more research, effective
treatments, prevention programs and early detection methods. PanCAN also funds research grants
for pancreatic cancer, as well as providing
patient services. Volunteers across the country help us to accomplish our goals.

We are attempting this ride in an effort to raise awarness of Pancreatic Cancer which claimed the life of all three of our fathers. Our goal is to not only raise funds for the benefit of PanCan, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, but to honor those who have fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

PanCAN is the only nationwide organization that addresses pancreatic cancer on every level - through funding research, moving public policy, providing patient and family services, education, and raising awareness.

In five years PanCAN has; funded six research grants totaling $1,154,600, moved federal funding from the National Cancer Institute from $17.5 million in 1999 to $42.2 million in 2003, and our PALS program is providing information for approximately 300 patients and family members each month.
